A Personal Letter From Arto Woodley
 December 2012

It takes time to create excellence. If it could be done quickly, more people would do it. John Wooden
Dear Friends and Supporters:

God's goodness over my fourteen-year tenure as the Chief Servant at Frontline has been overwhelming. This year is the 45th year of service for Frontline Outreach. The Board and the Frontline team have totally renovated the campus. Equipped hundreds young leaders starting at preschool and with 80% of those who completed the leadership ministries ascending to post secondary education. There are now over 40 Frontline alumni in colleges and training. Great accomplishments indeed!
Much of the service and growth experienced in the lives of children are because God's grace, your support, and the ability of the ministry to move from purely a compassionate work to a capacity building effort.  That shift put us ahead of the curve and gives young people and their families leadership skill and connection to God's purpose that is rare.
Now we face another wonderful opportunity and critical juncture. Our success together has brought us to the point that to remain on the cutting edge of urban ministry and innovation that we must change by the time the ministry reaches 50 years of service in 2017.  Here are the key ways we need change to over the next five years:
·       Developing a Great Team
·       Implementing Frontline's World Class Pre-K Plan
·       Expand the Youth Leadership Initiatives
·       Create a Sustainable Scholarship Pool
The goal is to save the money we need to fully accomplish these goals. The total amount needed will be quantified in the V Great Year Vision document that will be mailed to all Frontline's friends in the beginning of 2013.
-->
To get started we need to generate at least $8,000 a month in 2013 to begin reaching these goals. Our prayer is to secure half of that support as we end this year and generate the other half via our friends, churches and supporters that will give monthly.  (You can give online at www.fl-o.org or call Luke Fernbach at Frontline 407-293-3000) Your giving has been a blessing to so many young people at Frontline Outreach, especially to a young lady named Shamile.
She and Shawn a fellow Frontline leadership alumnus and scholarship recipient are pictured with Florida's Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll at the Benefit Luncheon. Here is her story...
Five-year-old Shamile and her two year old brother were being raised by their mother, a native of Haiti across the street from Frontline Outreach. A smart girl with great dreams she wondered if she would ever accomplish them. Living on the edge of survival with a mother working multiple jobs in a community where less than 50% of the people graduate from the local high school her vision seemed more like an impossible fairy tale than an attainable dream.
Today, she is an alumnus of Jones High, a National Achievement Scholar and third year scholarship student at the University of Florida with dreams of law school in her future. Her days in Nichols Apartments and Washington Shores Elementary seem like a distant memory.
How did she escape teen pregnancy, high school drop out, low achievement, and lack of drive? First, she would tell you by God's grace. Then she'd say, the hard work of her Mom and the ministry of Frontline Outreach (www.fl-o.org).
You and your gifts all year is a blessing. Shamile is representative of the hundreds of young people equipped at Frontline, talented and yearning to fulfill their promise as leaders and citizens. Supports from friends are the bridge that moves them from potential to fulfillment of the promise.
Thank you for sharing your time, talent and treasure and helping us to equip families with a vision for success and service by January 31st 2013.  I value your commitment and your partnership. Please consider helping us serve by sending a gift and giving monthly throughout the year. You contact me personally at arto@fl-o.org or call me on my direct line at 407-491-3546 at any time. You can connect with us at www.fl-o.org  or call Luke Fernbach at 407-293-3000 to make a gift at any time.  Blessings to you and your family during the holidays!
With Sincere Gratitude,

Arto Woodley Jr.
